River Ridge has direct entry to miles of bridle paths which are part of the historical Hutchinson River Trail. This trail which dates back to Colonial America can be ridden up to Saxon Woods. Our qualified trail guides accompany riders on guided trail ride lessons around the Twin Lakes of Eastchester and New Rochelle. One and two hour guided trail ride lessons are given seven days a week, weather permitting. Private trail ride lessons with guide may also be arranged for you or your group. Call for reservations.

Riding Lessons
River Ridge offers experienced professional teachers for all ages starting at five years old. No matter what the age, it's never too late to discover the pleasure of horse back riding. We teach both English and Western style riding. Learn to walk, trot, canter and jump. Be comfortable physically, mentally and emotionally. Ride balanced for comfort. Helmets are required for all students and will be provided if needed. Lessons are by appointment only. Private and semi-private lessons are available. Packages are offered for private lessons. Parties/Group Outings/Corporate Events
We can help you arrange and host groups for your equestrian themed parties or events, either here at River Ridge or off premises. Our party deck can accommodate groups of up to 50 people. Larger groups can be accommodated in our shaded grove. You can supply your own catering or we can arrange catering for you. In addition to catering, packages can include trail rides, hayrides, face painting, or pony rides - all tailor-made for your group.
For families, clubs or companies whether it's pony rides for your child's birthday party in your own backyard or larger group trail rides here, we can do it.
The goal of our summer horse camp is to develop a foundation in horsemanship with an emphasis on safety. Instruction on stable managment will include approach, secure, groom, saddle and ride. The camp is operated for children ages 6 to 15 years old. Camp hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday. Space is limited. Call 914-633-0303 for addtional information.

After School Riding Program
Our After School Program is every horse lover's dream. We offer lessons in horse care in a structured, safe and kind environment. The program consists of one and one half hours one day per week for 6 weeks: 45 minutes is devoted to a group lesson promoting your child to walk, trot and canter on his or her own horse. The other 45 minutes is a stable management session in which students participate in hands-on horse care and learn maintenance and stable safety. Horses are groomed and studied. With time most children find one horse to love and perhaps lease or purchase. Sessions are held rain or shine.
Adult Riding Program
You're never too old to learn more about the sport of horsemanship. River Ridge is now offering an evening program to adults 18 years or older. As part of this program we will demonstrate the proper method of grooming and tacking. There will be group lessons in both English and Western style riding along with the basic care and maintenance of a horse. We will also study the common equine ailments and the first aid to use in certain cases. Hands on horse care, stable maintenance and safety will be a major portion of this program.
